Mission:

The successful candidate will head BT PHARMA Immunology Department. He or she will be responsible for technology improvement, new lead candidate evaluation and proof of concept in appropriate pre clinical models of new product candidate. He or she will interact daily with other scientists in the Production, Process and Analytical Methods laboratory and in the Preclinical and Early Clinical Development department. The elected candidate will report to the Chief Scientific Officer of BT PHARMA.

His or her mission will consist of following key tasks:

• Contribute to the definition of the research priorities and ensure its implementation in line with budget.
• Contribute to portfolio progression by providing appropriate support to project teams.
• Bring an immunologist perspective to the design of clinical trials.
• Contribute to fund raising through competitive grant applications.
• Contribute to raise company awareness through participation at scientific meetings and congresses.
• Contribute to patent portfolio enrichment.
• Lead the immunology research group.
• Ensure state of the art design and implementation of research studies.
• Deliver reports in line with regulatory requirements.
• Manage external collaborations under his / her responsibility.

Profile:

• Ph.D., with specialization in immunology, vaccinology or related field.
• Minimum of two years post-doctoral experience and three years of R&D management experience, preferentially in corporate pharmaceutical or in Biotech Start-up environment.
• Acquainted with project management and pharmaceutical development of biologicals.
• Acquainted with quality assurance practices.
• Results-driven spirit, strong leadership and ability to work with remote team members.
• Rigorous, trustworthy, and gifted with high ethical standards.
• Cosmopolitan spirit and willingness to travel as required for the job.
• Fluent in English and good working knowledge of French.

Compensation package:
A competitive salary plus bonus and other benefits (including a stock option plan) are foreseen.

Timing and Location:
The position is currently opened and based at our headquarters and research facilities, Labège, near Toulouse, South France.
